Hi there!
I figured with Father’s Day around the corner for those of you down under, I would creat a hybrid card just for Dad. I chose to work with Boyish Charm.
I started a new document in Photoshop CS in my standard card size of 5.5″ wide x 4.25″ high. I cropped the papers down to fit, and added the label. Then I used a digital brush stamp from The {Stamps} of Life to add the sentiment to the label. I added the stars and flipped a couple of them horizontally so I’d have them facing two different ways.
Once I mocked up my card on the screen, I opened a new 8.5″ x 11″ document and then dragged the separate layers over to print. I could have left the two background papers and the label with the sentiment on one layer and printed it, but I prefer the look of actual layered papers, so once I printed I cut out each individual part.
I popped the stars up on 3-D foam adhesive to add some additional dimension.
Then I attached the card front to a card blank.
Finally, I created this printable for you. It’s 8.25″ x 5.5″ so you can print it, cut it out, fold it, and give it to that All Star Dad in your life.
Welcome to the last Thursday of August This means I must return to work soon and leave my boys (including the baby).
Well, I am going to brighten my mood by showing you these awesome layouts:
I ADORE these two layouts!! I cannot wait to do one of these for my sons and their daddy! What a super fantastic idea!
Both LOs were made with the Dreams in Colour 2.0 collection. Now you can get the complete collection, the colorful collection or each individual monochromatic kit. Your choice!!
Look at all that amazing-ness!! Go get whatever part you want!
I have so many re-releases to show you that I think I’m just going to shut up and let the images do the talking! As the title says, all 30% off through the weekend, including the bundles, which ends up making the overall savings a lot more than just 30%!
I’d just like to say that, even though it’s not themed per se, Nameless was inspired by the patterns in school notebooks for teenagers (you know those funky, cool ones?) and I honestly think it’s perfect for those back to school LOs that feature teens rather than smaller children! Have a look:
Welcome to another challenge here at SUN! Today, I am challenging you all with a lyric challenge. For this lyric challenge, you get to choose your song, BUT it must be a kid’s song. This can be a lullaby or a song you sang as a kid or you sing to your kids. Think under 5 if you can!
I chose a song I hear when my son is watching a particular episode of Yo Gabba Gabba! It is called Lovely, Love My Family and it is sung by the Roots. The kit isEverything Under the Sun, a collab from mgl Scraps and Sugarplum Paperie.
Janel chose to use “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” in the movie “Lilo and Stitch” andSerendipity Bundle from mgl Scraps!
Today’s challenge is sponsored by none other than the devil herself….Monica of mgl Scraps. We are soooo super excited to have her back at SUN with us!! One lucky winner will win a coupon from Monica!
Please remember to use at least 50% SUN items or blog train freebies in your LO and link us here by Friday, August 20 11:59pm EDT.
Hi guys! I’m still in the slow, painful process of repreviewing everything and adding it to my Sun store, while doing a ton of Sun-related admin things, so this is all conspiring to keep me from designing anything new. It’s as annoying as it can be especially because I’m so full of creative energy right now, and I fear it will all go to waste if I don’t grab it and use it now-now-now, but then I always was one for self-indulgent instant gratification, so what do I know?
This week at Sunshine Studios I’m re-releasing my Secret Labyrinth and my Indomitable collections so, if you don’t have them yet, this weekend would be the perfect timing to snag them at 30% off! Here you go, all linked:
You know already that Monica has switched stores (she’s back at SUN!!). Well, it takes some time to get old products ready for sale again. So, her store has only a fraction of her awesome products. Let me show you a LO using one of her products that is in SUN store…..
So what drew my eyes to this particular LO? I love the colors in the photo and how they are brought out by the colors in the kit! It’s almost like the kit was made for these photos!
Can you guess the kit? It is the super adorable collab with Nicole of Sugarplum Paperie, Everything Under the Sun! I love love this kit!
Here is the kit:
Gorgeous, right?!?! Well, it’s linked so you can go pick it up!
Hello! Blog Chic Teri here to bring you the next challenge! Monica has recently switched stores (back to SUN!!) and has a fantastic new collab with Nicole of Sugarplum Paperie called Everything Under the Sun. It is an awesome kit!
The one thing I keep coming back to in this kit is the orange. Orange is not a color I typically am drawn to, but I am in this kit.
So, your challenge is to make a layout using mostly mgl Scrap items and the color ORANGE. I want to see lots of orange….make it grab my attention!
Have you got any Project 365/52 photos that have never seen the light of day? Did you start the project and then never complete it?
I certainly did. In 2009 I attempted Project 365, and didn’t take a photo everyday but most days I did. I like to think that instead of a failed Project 365 I have a resource of everday photos for my layouts – a set of stock photos you could say.
Noel from Paperclipping.com also started a project and kept adding metadata to her photos to help with the journalling later.Though she’s not using them in a standard Project 365 way, she’s got some cool ideas here. She is now using the metadata to make some stylish simple summer pages here.
Katie the Scrapbook lady is working on a Backwards Project 365 where she is documenting the story behind a photo each day. What an awesome idea!
As for me, I didn’t end up scrapping Project 365 for 2009 at all (but check out Monica’s awesome kits to do this!) So this year I’m not attempting to do this, but rather I’m working on getting my favourite photos from this project into an album. I’m just highlighting a few of the photos each month using 2 pages spread from a template with a simple journalling box to the side.
Also in 2008 I did a brag book challenge over at Scrapbookgraphics and completed pages for 2007-2008. So I thought I could create an album to take both of these project off my to do list. You can have a sneak peek of my album’s progress here
