Hey guys! I’m really excited to show you my new collab, for loads of reasons. First of all, the name. “What?” I hear you thinking, “She’s got a new collab out and she’s excited about what she named it?? Is she insane?” Well, yes, on both counts. Yes, I’m excited about the name, and yes I’m insane, but they’re entirely unrelated, I promise that my insanity far predates my excitement over the name! Ok, I should really just stop rambling and explain, shouldn’t I? We decided to call the collab Casual Attraction. What’s so special about the name?

Casual Attraction is the name of an awesome band, whose singer, Tiago, just so happen to be one of my closest friends. So this is sort of me sending a wink his way, and also taking the time to let all of you guys know about them. If you’re in the mood for good music, go check them out either on their blog or their facebook fan page and I totally promise you won’t regret it! Hi guys! Are you ready for a gazillion previews? I’m managing the feat of, all at once, feeling proud, happy, giddy, relieved, excited, nervous, infuriated and completely enraged all in one go. Multiple personality much? Why, you guys ask? Well, I’m proud of my new collection – it’s a complete remake of the Dreams in Colour collection, now affectionately titled Dreams in Colour 2.0 – I’m happy that I did it, giddy that I now get to show it to all of you, relieved that for once I’m typing this blog post in advance – 5 hours in advance, to be precise -, excited to see your reactions, nervous because my newsletter software is acting up, infuriated because it chose today of all days to do that, and, finally, completely enraged that I didn’t think to test the newsleter yesterday, or the day before. Although, in my defense, it was working perfectly well the last time I used it. Anyway, hubby is working on it now and, hopefully, in this 5 hour span (I just typed “spank” there!), he’ll have it ready to go… “hopefully” being the operative word here. I’m running DadaMail, in case you’re wondering.

So, newsletter troubles aside, I’m going to focus on the positive side of all those feelings I mentioned earlier and show you guys how it all turned out. So I went digging through my stash of pics to find the sea lion kisses of 3 years ago. I was pregnant with David, and the sea lion’s coach was trying to get him to kiss my belly instead, but he’d have none of it and wouldn’t let go of my cheek, lol.

Then Apolo and Melissa (my sister) took their turns and I have to say, looking at these pics, 3 years ago, where Apolo has the same haircut, and is actually even dressed in the same colour, it’s amazing how much his features have changed, moving away from his babyish look, while looking at the same time so similar. My baby is grown up, sniff!

On far less nostalgic news, I’d like to shout out a great big THANK YOU from the rooftops. You guys rushed to Buy My Store, and have rescued my holidays and then some. Hi guys!

Long time – as in looooooooooooooooooooooong time, I know – no post! I’m terrible at blogging, same as I was terrible at keeping a journal, ack.

Aaaanyway, August has been a month to forget, blargh! Hubby is on holiday the whole month, and we thought out a bunch of fun stuff to do with the kids. Then finances came and fined us for not doing something we’d first been told was optional – as it turns out, sending them the floor plans to our house, even though city hall already has them, is very much mandatory. Add to that the fact that our marriage regime is such that whatever is mine is mine alone, and whatever is hubby’s is his alone, and the fact that we bought the house together, thus co-owning it, and the finances get away with fining us twice, once for me and once for him.

Then our oven died – well, it’s not quite dead yet (those of you familiar with Monty Python will be laughing by now, I imagine), but it’s in a comatose state at the moment, and when the tech called, the day before yesterday, he threw an impossibly high figure up in the air and said the entire circuit had to be replaced. We said no thanks, to come and bring back the oven as is, and 5 minutes later he calls and says there might be a cheaper way. Was supposed to have called me today, but didn’t, I’m plotting his untimely demise if he doesn’t say something tomorrow morning. Unless he gets back to me a lot later, but with good news, the jury is still out on that one.

Then came yesterday. Yesterday we took the kids to the Zoo. It was David’s first visit, the last time we went I was pregnant with him, and we were looking forward to seeing his reaction to all the animals. He liked the dolphin show, LOVED the cable car rides, was both fascinated by and terrified of the snakes. Other than that, he was mildly indifferent, so it doesn’t seem to be something we’ll strive to do more than once a year. Ah, but I get ahead of myself. Because there wasn’t a single parking spot anywhere near the Zoo, so we ended up deciding we were very clever, and parking with two weels up on the sidewalk. After the visit was over, we came back to a police-locked car and yet another fine. Ah, joy! No one to blame but ourselves this time, though, so we have to take it and learn from it.

So, with fines and ovens and more fines piling up, August isn’t shaping up to be too good of a holiday. Don’t get me wrong, no one is going hungry, but our holiday plans suffered a considerable dent.
